Zend Server 8 Installation Problem on OS X

Follow

Issue

Zend Server installation fails with the following error:

Zend Server encountered some problems while configuring the database and could not be installed.

Environment

Apple OS X

Zend Server 8

Resolution

The simplest solution is clean reinstallation of Zend Server. To completely remove Zend Server execute the following commands in Terminal app:

$ sudo /usr/local/zend/bin/uninstall.sh
$ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/zend

After this install Zend Server as usual.

Details

Our technical teams are still working on establishing the root cause. The issue may be related to the fact that there is an older Zend Server installation on the system (still unconfirmed).

    "The issue may be related to the fact that there is an older Zend Server installation on the system (still unconfirmed)" - It seems to me the installation script cannot access to the mysql to create tables. After the installation of Zend Server 8 (ZendServer-8.0.2-php-5.6.5) to OSX 10.10 do restart, server seems running but 501 error due to cannot access to the database table. Then I installed Zend Server 7 and uninstalled and again Zend Server 8 and now surprisingly works.
